During this Civil War interactive YOU will live the life of a soldier and a supporter of the North or the South. Your contingent depends on you to earn combat points. The contingent with the most combat points at the end of this simulations wins! Combat points are award for completing work, being prepared for class, and becoming actively involved. Combat points are lost by not obeying commands, completing work incorrectly, and leaving a man behind. |

Pre-Cycle
Every student is given two packets- blue and yellow. The blue packet includes vital information for completing this unit. The yellow packet is where students will take notes and record data. Both packets must be brought to class each and every day.
Every student will receive two identities: home and field. Along with these identities, you will be a part of a specific contingent. This contingent must great a banner, slogan, and uniform( hat, badge, armband, etc.) to be brought to class each day.

THe War Years--1861-1865
- Students will be responsible for vocabulary for each year we study.
- Class will receive war details via War Dispatches (listened to in class), supplementary videos, and Battle Pages in the Student Guide.
- Each year will contain War Dispatches, Common Soldier or Common Person Interviews, A Flourish Activity, Group Jeopardy and an individual quiz.
- IF YOU ARE ABSENT, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE TO GET THE MISSED NOTES FROM A FRIEND AND CATCH UP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE--YOUR CONTINGENT NEEDS YOU!
