Group Questions: 1.Out of all the options slaves had to not be enslaved anymore (retirement, running away, etc…) which do you think would be the most effective/likely to be successful? 2.If you were enslaved, which option would you personally choose? Which Emancipation story did you enjoy reading about the most?? 3.On the bottom of page 137 a former slave named Tom states “no matter how good you treat it- it wants to be free.” What did Tom mean by this? 4. What problems did former slaves encounter after they were Emancipated? How would you react if you were placed in a similar situation? 5. This novel aims to collect first-hand narratives that capture what it was like to be enslaved. Now answer the following question: What was it like TO BE A SLAVE??? When done:
